And here we are again.
And so DHS, when it was created after 9-11,
There were a lot of debates about this.
I'm sure Rick Wilson remembers this.
I mean, you know, it was it was in the aftermath of 9-11.
And the whole point of creating DHS was to figure out how we were going to create a security system to really track threats against the homeland and to coordinate.
And so what I'm seeing here right now is complete government overreach.
It's complete breach of what these people were raising along the way when DHS was being created, saying, well, there's a potential here.
to overreach as a government.
There's a potential to violate civil liberties, and there's going to be a fine line.
The biggest fear of critics of DHS and its creation was that this scenario would happen, that power would be abused in the moment against American citizens, against people utilizing their constitutional rights.
And so...
I have serious concerns about what we're seeing here at the Department of Homeland Security, and I'm seeing recklessness by the leadership there labeling people as domestic terrorists.
That is far from what any of these things have been, to be clear.
And so I think I'm talking to Homeland Security practitioners.
I'm talking to leaders of agencies.
I've talked to former heads of CBP, Customs and Border Protection, heads of ICE, who are all, by the way, on the same page saying, no, this has gone too far.
We have serious concerns about what we're seeing here.
I didn't want to interrupt, and I know where I think she's going with this, but the last thing I wanted to say, and I will definitely be tracking this all day and will be here with you guys in the trenches, is just it's a complete betrayal of values.
whether you are liberal, Democrat, Republican, conservative, I think anyone in this space who is watching this should be irate at what we're seeing happen right now, because it's not only a betrayal of, as Rick said, the economy and how they are hurting their own people, even though they claim to stand by them and the people that voted for them.
