As a side note, we need to say also what is productive because you can generate thirty million lines of code in a month, but who is gonna again, there's a question of testing.

That's a good question.
So the way it shows up is actually a continuum.

Maybe it was just like, oh, let's put a question in a chat, what kind of tool to use, how to architect something, and then oh, we can get the answer.
Now, later on, I said, Look, this is fantastic.
Okay, we can have like these coding agents.
So, what I thought, uh a bit naively, I said, Okay, let's double the head count, give everybody AI.
We're gonna be like each one five times more productive.
The whole thing will be 10 times more productive, we're ready to conquer the world.
And what I discovered is that when we hire based on the filter of what is the signal for the hiring, based on the older workflow, okay, sit down and write for me a full stack app or whatever it was, it doesn't really capture the fluency of using the AI, right?
If instead you say, okay, I want you to use AI to build something, then you will see whether the person can really do this.

What I learned is that it's very difficult to make a change.
Okay, like change band in general, that always is difficult because what is the alignment of incentives?
What do people want to do?
So in my case, I think ultimately try to avoid like firing people and replacing with AI because it seems unfair.
