I mean, the three people on the pitch are supposed to be the primary decision makers, and yet I think it's probably human nature that if you can pass it on to somebody else...
I mean, a while ago, I joked with one of the guys from World Rugby.
I said, you know, you should be in another booth and you should have all these feet, a split screen.
And if the TMO can't make up his mind up, he goes to you.
And he said, well, that might be something we could look at.
And I said, I'm absolutely only joking because if somebody can pass the buck, he'll pass the buck.
And there is too much passing the buck, in my view, when you see things that are happening.
For goodness sake, make the decision as the referee.
Then on the other hand, if I was refereeing today, I would be afraid of making a mistake, a big mistake, like sending somebody off if I wasn't absolutely certain.
And I think in fairness, he got the cards right the other day.
The other person who's particularly good at owning the decision is Holly Davidson.
She will make her mind up.
In fact, she overruled herself the other day, which was terrific.
She was, let's say, I can't remember exactly.
Let's say she was giving the try.
And then the TMO said, I have no evidence.
that you shouldn't give the try.
