The really clever people in Sweden have done the maths on this and it works out roughly at about 20% tax is what it works out on.
But there'll be a limit at which that you have a certain amount tax-free, growing tax-free, and then when it goes over that level, you're starting to get taxed on it.
Sorry, absolutely.
I talked about communication being the problem.
I really think this is a foundation of this.
If the tax is on the individual to sort out, this will fall flat on its face.
I would go that strong with it.
But even if you think about it from a revenue perspective,
If you think about how exit tax works on some of the big companies at the moment with the 38% collection every eight years, revenue made a decision years ago.
We're not going chasing 500,000 people who have these investments.
We're just going to chase eight or 10 product providers and get the money off them every year.
And it's much easier for revenue to collect it that way.
So it works much better for everyone to make sure the tax is looked after at source, not by the individual.
Who's managing the funds?
So if you think about it, if you look at what happened with auto enrolment, My Future Fund, there's a couple of providers there who have provided the funds.
But this money will be invested in things like shares and things like bonds.
And what you would expect is that it would be spread across the entire world.
And if it's done right, it'll be really well diversified.
And people do need to have options there about how much risk do I want to take?
Do I want to go low, medium or high risk?
