And what stuff do I have to pay for between now and then?
And seeing if it stretches out and then doing that on pay at least every payday after that.
Now, if there's still some left over after that and you've got money to invest, now we're onto the five-year rule.
And the five year rule is if you have money you do not need in the next five years, it doesn't belong in the bank account, the credit union or on post.
If you have money that you do need in the next five years, you just have to put up with the awful interest rates that you get in the bank account, the credit union or on post.
And it's about trying to get that structure right so that you use this as an opportunity not just to fix today, but to fix tomorrow and beyond that.
When it comes to where do you invest it, that's a whole different discussion.
And what I would say is, I think your concentration now needs to be more on the day to day and getting that stuff right and seeing what's left over after that.

And I've no business or place to be there, but it absolutely fascinated me.
And one of the things that's very well accepted is,
whatever you tell your brain is what your brain is going to tell you.
So imagine your brain is like the yes person in the office and the yes person says, yes, boss, you were great there, boss, brilliant boss, well done boss, look at that, do that again, boss, that was excellent, right?
Your brain is going to tell you
what you want to hear.
And you've just told your brain you're not good with money.
And if you don't flip that switch to say, I'm good with money, I have this advantage, I have this 40 grand, I have this opportunity.
If you don't flip the switch on that and start telling your brain, I am good with money,
