The point is this.
Party is the first part.
If Villa win the Europa League and get a Champions League place by that and finish in the top four, then nothing changes, really.
The Premier League, it's just Villa will qualify from that and their Champions League place won't be given to anybody else.
But if they finish in fifth position and only in fifth position and also win the Europa League, then that fifth position place gets moved down to sixth.
and therefore that would bring Chelsea back into play, along with Bournemouth, Brentford, exactly.
So that is interesting.
And the thing about Villa is Villa have to play in the remaining league games.
They've got to play away at Fulham.
They've got to play Tottenham, who obviously are desperate for points away at Burnley.
Then they've got to play at home to Liverpool and away to title-chasing Man City.
So, if they were to lose even just the last two games there, Liverpool and Man City, then that would put Liverpool in a strong position to overtake Aston Villa and push them into fifth.
The Europa League final happens before the last round of the Premier League.
So tasty.
Imagine Europa League champions Aston Villa going out to fight for Arsenal on the last day.
That is the stuff of Mikel Arteta's nightmares.
And so probably we'll all get to experience it collectively in a few weeks' time.
But yeah, I mean, Chelsea just look absolutely screwed.
I mean, I was watching that game on Saturday night.
It's like, this is terrible.
