One good feature of most travel insurance, I'm not saying all of it, but you can check this out yourself, is they cover you from the moment that you pay the insurance.

So if you pay for the insurance now, you might be covered for any flight cancellations, things that happen between now and going.

Typically what will happen if you go to a country that is like a high risk, your travel insurance won't cover you to go there.

So even if the country itself is very much insurable, they might have a clause in the T's and C's or the PDS of the travel insurance that says if you travel to something listed as...

red alert on smart traveler you will not be covered so you need to be aware of that typically things like drinking if you've been drinking and you do something stupid and won't be covered if you break the law you're not covered like all these things that we think are like oh yeah but those are things that people tend to um i guess overestimate in terms of what they're covered for

It makes it very hard to compare apples to apples.

So one of the places that I learned a lot about travel insurance was from Choice.

um they now they could call me up after this and be like you're wrong we don't do this but i believe they with their memberships the choice memberships i think they actually do travel insurance reviews or ratings yeah i think so you can actually or at least you have information on that you can learn about them um so that's one thing okay now let's talk about what happens when you've got when you've gone what do you do with your finances here in australia
