I don't know.
I had a lot of fun
creating her.
She was a fun character too.
Whenever an opportunity came where she had to speak, it was probably the most exciting point writing this particular novel because I thought, oh my gosh, what is she going to say now?
She was so reckless and so carefree.
She was a lot of fun to write.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I meant for them to be on... Because...
A lot of the book for me was about how different their experiences were as women.
So, you know, on the one hand, you have Koride, who's very responsible, but who's maybe not so attractive.
And like you said, she's holding the family together, but she doesn't get a lot of thanks for that.
But on the other end, you've got Ayala, who's really quite beautiful and capricious.
And even though she's not contributing as much to life, people adore her and people are drawn to her and they're willing to do almost anything for her.
And the two of them are compared quite a bit.
So I needed them to be quite different characters.
I wasn't thinking about genre when I was writing this.
You know, it's funny because afterwards people kept on asking me, OK, so what genre was this?
And I had to quickly come up with something.
