And this just accelerated in the second division.
And so it was no surprise.
Since they were bringing in bigger crowds, then I think, I may be wrong, I think there were only two teams in the first division pulling in bigger crowds than Man Utd.
So I suppose it was just a sensible commercial and footballing decision by the Match of the Day producers to put United on the telly.
Because they were making a national impact, even though they were in the lower division.
You wonder if it could happen today.
