So that kind of emphasises just how big Manchester United were becoming.

50 well yeah no and also another thing about about this era is is that the disparity between the lowest and the highest attendance is i mean there were a couple of 40 41 thousands but by and large they were this average of 53 200 whatever it was um it was usually you know
it didn't vary massively whereas in the past yes you would get the odd 60,000 crowd like for the European matches of the Busby Babes but you would also get some 30,000 simply because maybe it was the week before Christmas or maybe there were two games in a week and the fans couldn't afford to go to both so you would get these massive fluctuations in the crowd and
Whereas this average of 53, 200, uh, in all competitions, it didn't, it didn't very much, you know, it was usually around that figure, uh, at every game, um, perhaps a reflection of higher living standards.
Um, who knows the, it was the middle of the seventies, an era that we associate with inflation and, uh, you know, rather than prosperity, but, uh,
