So that's the retail price of the car, especially at a dealer.
And private sales can sometimes be a little bit less than that.
But you can expect that a manufacturer or an OEM or dealer is going to offer you a little bit less for your car.
Now, the reason for that is when they take that in, they're probably going to have to service it.
They're going to have to repair it.
There's costs and light and heat and energy and everything else.
So you aren't necessarily going to get exactly what you see on done deal cars for the car itself.
Right.
But you have to remember as well that in a lot of cases, the manufacturer might have a little bit of discount in the new car too.
So sometimes that can balance out and that it comes somewhere in the middle, hopefully.
Well, look, if you're going for a new EV, it's probably a little bit simpler because, OK, you know, these cars are now getting better and bigger.
The batteries are getting bigger.
A lot of people are primarily still concerned about the range.
How far does it go?
You will have to, if you look at what your daily commute is, if your daily commute is 50 kilometres each way, that's going to be easy for a lot of people.
It's when you get into the longer journeys of if you're driving 200 kilometres each way and your car does 400 kilometres, that's going to be trickier.
I would say to people, when you see the manufacturers figure out what the range quotes, just sort of take away the VAT.
Reduce about 20 odd percent of that.
And you'll get what will be a real range.
You will get a lot less range in winter and you'll get a little bit more in summer.
