How good were Liverpool when they won the league?
They were brilliant.
And then they spent 500 million.
The only thing I'd say against that, though, is I think for the last 10 years or so, we've had the best coach in the world in England.
I'm not sure we have now.
Because Pep's gone, obviously.
We had Ancelotti, we had Conte, we had Thomas Tuchel, we had Jurgen Klopp, we had Jose Mourinho.
Yeah.
Do you know what you mean?
There always has to be a shift and the young coaches have to come through.
And they attract the players, don't they, as well?
Yeah.
There has to be a shift at some point, doesn't it?
And this is the shift now.
We'll have to see how good they are.
And the only way you'll know is how they do in the Premier League, but more importantly in the Champions League.
they've done it a different way they've fought their way to it do you know what I mean where in previous years when they finished second and third they've got a good team they play good football and they've really stumbled over the line and done it really defensively which look there's no harm in doing it it's hard to do it now and
we might be saying in the next couple of years, oh Jesus, just need to get over the line and bang, they were gone.
I just can't see it.
When you say that, I still don't think it'd be a massive surprise in the world if Arsenal finished third or fourth next year.
