I don't think we can invest enough in our parks, whether that's acquisition, recreation centers, summer programming, or or other sorts of investments. podcast-host

Um have always been fully supportive of them and want to make sure that we continue to enhance what is already a good podcast-host

And I will say as far as um being able to have some improvements for infrastructure in District 8, you know, looking at the needs of the Zilker Metro Park, which is many would say the crown jewel of Austin, Texas park system. podcast-host

But it definitely gets beaten up a bit as people like to enjoy the space and um utilize everything great that it has to offer. podcast-host

And so I know dealing with some erosion control issues, especially around Barking Springs, is is going to podcast-host

There's a vision plan that council adopted in two thousand nine that specifically calls out where we need to make sure that trees are replanted and that we have these erosion control issues dealt with. podcast-host

So many, many years have gone by and I think generally what I hear is that we need to up our investment in our park system and our libraries and really make sure that families have access to the the services that they routinely ask us as council members to deliver on. podcast-host

It would be fiscal year twenty eight when it you would see the impact because uh with the um if it it that goes to the voters, if the the propositions are approved, there's a lot of different steps that have to occur before them. podcast-host

By the time we actually appropriate the dollars, it would be around January of twenty seven. podcast-host

spending could immediately begin. podcast-host

We would then incorporate any anticipated spending through the remainder of that fiscal year as part of the bond sale, the geobond sale that would take place in August September timeframe. podcast-host

So then those debt service requirements would be part of the FY twenty eight proposed budget. podcast-host

Uh there was a bill introduced last session to add that into the mix, but it did not move forward. podcast-host
