And just because they're excited about what's happening on the field, that doesn't mean they're going to react positively to the notion that.

And in the words of State Rep.

Cam Buckner, the bears are coming to the front of the line and saying, we want a deal on our property tax when Joe Blow in Arlington Heights is not going to get a deal on his property taxes.

So that's the political reality.

And it's up to Kevin Warren to understand the political environment that he's in.

And there's been so many steps along the way where it seems like he hasn't.

Yeah, well, in Northwestern, Pat Ryan, who's a big alumni and AON chairman, he funds pretty much the whole school.

But he's funding a lot of this stadium.

Obviously, it's a much smaller project than a Bears stadium would be, multiple billions of dollars.

And the Bears' argument has always been, look at the economic development we're going to spur on, look at the tax revenue we're going to bring in, look at the hotels that will get built.

And so that's always been the argument for publicly assisting these big stadiums.

But there's plenty of economists that say that that doesn't materialize, that it is a waste of money.

To waste taxpayer money on this and it's a handout for billionaires.

There's big dispute among economists about what the benefit really is.

So I think that most people in finance and that are close to the bears say they don't believe the McCaskey family, even with private equity, could afford a massive development like they want to build in Arlington Heights all on their own.

They didn't make their money in oil.

They didn't make their money like a lot of these other owners like Jerry Jones.

So they do need some kind of assistance.

And I think there was a little bit of disingenuousness in Kevin Warren's letter because nobody is telling the bears that they're not going to get public funding for infrastructure upgrades, roads.

They're going to have to build a bridge or a tunnel over the train tracks there to get to the property.
