And I think as a matter of public relations, the Reds have to ride this out for as long as they can, I think, at least maintain the appearance of competing.
And not selling to that extent.
But I do agree with you.
I think it looks more and more like this whole thing might be too far gone.
You know, it's interesting that they would play the Phillies this week.
Because the Phillies have engineered an incredible turnaround this season.
The first team in MLB history to go from 10 games under .500 to 10 games over .500 before July.
And at this point, the Reds would need a turnaround of a similar magnitude to get back into this thing.
And they're running out of time.

I want to say 70 games left in the season.
It's just they're running out of time.
So I think this team is going to have an opportunity to sell because of the number of teams that are as close to playoff contention as
I think this will be a good seller's market.
And I think the Reds will be able to make some deals that allow them to restock the farm system, but also maintain as much of what they want to consider the core of the current group.
But there also might be some tough decisions in there about what the core of this team actually is, because I think that
the names on that list look a lot different, are a lot different today than they would have been on opening day.
Since you threw Hector in there, I'd probably just add Alfredo Duno.
