And she woke up at one stage after losing consciousness and said he was walking around the apartment going, what have I done to her?

But she did ask him to call an ambulance for her.

And he told her she wasn't going to need an ambulance because she was going to die that night.

Right.

Now, that case did go to court.

She made a complaint.

I mean, courageously, she came forward.

She made a complaint.

The guards carried out their investigation, and he received a seven-year sentence for that offense.

He served five years for that, but the judge did not.

During, while he was handing down the sentencing, there was a quote from the judge, and the judge said, this was Seán O'Sullivan, he said,

you have previous convictions for violence against women and I have no evidence before me to suggest that you won't harm women again."

And that was a fairly prescient statement from that judge because Patrick Nevin certainly did go on to harm other women.

Yeah, that's right.

Yeah, while he was in prison.

This is a feature.

of Patrick Nevin when he was in custody and when he was, I suppose, in a fairly secure environment.

He did manage to go to school and side in the prison and secure a qualification in computers from UCD.

Which is no mean feat for anybody to achieve while in prison.
