They have to be competent in order to gain each other's trust at what they do.
In other words, players will not allow coaches to coach them who don't know how to coach.
They know immediately this guy doesn't know what he's talking about.
And so coaches had to learn how to develop and teach players and talk to players.
And it's not easy.
And then the reliability thing, which is a contradiction.
The ultimate contradiction in leadership in sports is that
While you're preaching loyalty and you're preaching trust, in the same sentence you will tell them, I will have to trade you one day.
And that's part of the business.
So if your name pops up in a trade, and if it's just a rumor, because everything's a rumor today.
I mean, it really is.
And it emanates from social media.
I'm not blaming them.
And online and podcasts and, you know, they got to get it out.
And it's not true.
And I tell them, I said, it's just going to happen.
Don't get upset.
