I mean, I know the Georgia Strait still exists in some form, but we had all these things.
We had Metro.
We had 24 Hours.
We had a whole slew
Of information sources.
And again, technology has changed and people get their stuff in different ways now versus then.
But the overall truth is that those were all people who were professionals, who had sort of a code of ethics, who had a process on what we need to know and what we deserve to know and what the politicians and the corporate leaders and all that don't want you to know.
Right.
And fundamentally, that made our society better and better educated and better informed.
And now we're in a world where not only does Facebook not want to have a share news links at all, but Google's making it very hard to get news punching through, even though, you know, fairness, Google is paying into the digital innovation fund and is in theory paying for jobs.
The overall issue is, is that Canadians need to know what's going on around them.
A lot of it has been sort of invisible and now it's stark and clear that there just is no competition.
That when you have, as an example for sports fans, every single major team in Toronto owned by one company and they own one of the major sports networks who happen to own the rights to the majority of those games.
That's not good.
That is not good for Canadians.
Canadians deserve better.
We should have more variety.
It's time for regulators to step in and say, no, this is too much.
I'm sorry, guys.
Good for you for being able to buy everything, but that's not how this works.
