I agree with that because when you play games now when you're retired,
There's a lot of great names playing on pitches and obviously no one's the same player.
He's the best player by a mile.
And whatever team he's on wins in, you know, probably three or four times.
I've played in charity games, he's always been on the opposition.
And he's the one player when you come off, everyone's talking about Clavin Seedorf.
You lost to Brazil in the semi-final, was it?
Yeah, we lost.
I mean, for the size of country...
that Holland is, I mean, getting to semi-finals and competitions is an unbelievable achievement.
It is.
But it's always been felt from the outside, I don't know what the reaction is from maybe the media or the players in Holland, that you'd always feel like there'd be some sort of trouble in the Dutch camp, there'd be an argument, someone would leave, the ego's on the pitch.
Is that a myth or did that stop you at times going on to win a major tournament?
I mean, thinking of, obviously, I grew up, one of my first tournaments, I can remember, was 1988.
when Holland won the European Championship.
So for a country so small in terms of population, you think of Johan Cruyff, Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten, your generation of players.
What is that secret to produce some of the best players in the world and actually the best player in the world in Cruyff, Gullit and van Basten at different times?
What is that mentality?
