Can get back to the areas, not that it was sort of 15, 20 years ago, but but simply what it was producing 40 years ago, 30 years ago.
So there's a lot of work that needs doing before this giant accord between Washington and Caracas can actually start to bear fruit.
Of course, President Trump says that he believes it will start working within two to three years.
Energy experts that we've heard from have
said that it's more like a decade before there'll be any real fruit felt from these accords.
Yeah, I think the fact that Donald Trump says the country simply isn't, as he put it, ready for elections is going to be deeply concerning to those in opposition who really are pressuring not just Mr Trump but also Michael Rubio to m start moving towards elections as soon as possible.
Now Michael Rubio has spoken to a Spanish language outlet, he has spoken to Fox News where he says look if it was possible we'd have them as soon as possible.
But
But if it were to happen now, the regime would use the same broken infrastructure of elections that it has used to maintain its grip on power.
I think the opposition is saying they are very uncomfortable with seeing such a close relationship between Delcy Rodriguez and the Trump administration, even raising the suggestion that such a major energy deal can't legally be reached by a trans
Government.
Now that has been pushed back by the National Assembly, made up of course of loyalists to Delcy Rodriguez.
But this is becoming really sticky politically, I think, not just in Venezuela, but for the Trump administration more broadly.
It's hard to get a complete picture because, you know, it's so many states along that northern coastline.
But what I can say is in Caracas, the neighbourhoods that have been damaged are in very, very poor state.
There are buildings down to the tune of about 150 across the capital.
But it's also the degree to which those that haven't been brought down completely have been so cracked and damaged that they're going to be uninhabitable.
