Yeah.

Not only can it end in a draw, these are played in series.

So the Ashes, which is the kind of, in England, the biggest series, which is England against Australia...

That is played, so there are five test matches and each test match is five days.

So that would be 25 days across the course of the summer.

And that can end in a draw because it can be two all because one of the matches ended in a draw.

So yeah.

In the old days, you'd quite frequently get five match test series where the result was one nil because only one of the test matches would be won and all the rest would be drawn.

Yeah.

We had a conversation, you and I had a conversation once about, um, one of the differences between football and basketball and why, um, like I prefer football, um, flow wise is because football is quite often boring and there are only goals every now and again.

So each goal is like magnified and has an incredible weight of importance.

And test cricket, the thing about test cricket is sometimes it's bad, like all sport, right?

This sport, you don't sit down knowing this thing is definitely going to be entertaining and fun.

Sometimes it's really dull.

But the thing about a test match is once every so often, you get a five-day build of swings and momentum back and forth where nobody knows how it's going to go.

And it builds and it builds and it builds until five days later

all rests on the last half an hour of play.

And those moments are absolutely electric because the kind of gathering attention of the people that like the sport builds and builds and builds until it feels like the whole of the cricket world is just tuned into this one intense passage of play.

And these people who are exhausted after five days are kind of giving absolutely everything to either defend for the draw, to get the runs they need to win, to take the last wicket they need to win.
