Yeah.
There's a lot happening in this area at the minute.
Right up and down George's Street, over onto Bride Street, uh Kevin Street, big developments there.
And all of these um
building sites and all these cranes that people will see walking around the city, they'll o will all have had some level of archaeological investigation or assessment prior to the the building works happening.
And yeah, very historic part of um of Dublin.
Just outside the the medieval city walls.
But very much within medieval suburbs as we're finding more and more as these investigations are changing the picture.
If I can there from an excavator's point of view, it's an amazing outlet to actually showcase these findings.
And otherwise a lot of the time the excavation is carried out, there's time pressures on the site, there's time pressures on reporting and the rest of it, and it the reports get done and lodged under planning conditions.
But um through the the symposium you really have an opportunity to, as Ruth said, basically show people what's happening behind the hoardings, you know, and reports that otherwise might end up in in an archive somewhere.
So last year for example, yeah, we had a an absolutely packed out auditorium in Trinity College, just within the shadow of the Book of Kells and you're within the historic core of of the city.
But as Ruth was saying, you you get to share the findings with colleagues first of all, but it is very much a public facing event.
And this year we're having the symposium on the seventh of October as part of the Dublin Festival of History.
And it's also coming into the busy season for the Friends now at the walking tours um around Dublin, hosted by Friends of Medieval Dublin.
And we'll also be doing tours of the medieval little.

What exactly is it?
So during the course of a of a large development just across the road from us here on Angel Street, back in twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen, there was a very large archaeological excavation undertaken.
