Yes, so not many people have a monk as a father.
He was a Benedictine in an abbey in the Isle of Wight called Quar Abbey.
He was one of eight children, a large Catholic family, four of whom at some point or another were in uh religious orders of some description.
So fifty percent.
It was a healthy contribution.
He joined the Benedictines and was there as a monk for twenty or so years.
Um his main focus
Academically was on Saints and he wrote a very well known book now, The Oxford Dictionary of Saints, which

It was one of the proudest things for me to do to help him produce the last edition.
