What is it all about?
Well, look, I guess the final whistle, you know, sums up the motion.
Part of it's because, you know, there was a moment around probably around 10 minutes ago and maybe when Burns' goal went in, I was doing the radio co-com and I was getting a little bit giddy and I was kind of saying, is this the year?
And that was the first point of the game where I felt that this could happen.
And then there was obviously, you know, they did it in a typical Mayo style whereby they made us all, you know, waste and it had to be a little bit nervy.
And you didn't, maybe it didn't need to be if Jordan Flynn's, you know, that would have been a remarkable alley-oop goal.
We'll see what the style of what they're doing or whatever.
But no, I think the final whistle for me was just incredible.
It brought me back to 2011 when we won our first World Cup.
And I just think it was it was it was a greater atmosphere than that.
Like by three, by four, the place was shaken like there was just grown men crying everywhere.
It was there wasn't one person like I don't I really believe that a lot of the Kerry people that were there were very soon switching their sadness to joy, you know, because you could not be, you know, what they've gone through, the history of their defeats, the manner of the defeats.
the resilience the group showed, the admiration that the country had for this group without winning in All-Ireland because of the way they just kept going back to the well and the way their fans just kept on backing them.
And just to see their fans be able to enjoy that moment, to see the players...
Watching sheer joy, you know, play out is just, it's magical.
It was one of the most incredible days of my life.
I was proud to be Irish, proud to be a Gael and, you know, just utterly just chuffed for everybody who was involved in that team and was from Mayo, whether it's their grandmother or their great-grandmother, anyone who had any linkage to Mayo was clinging on to it yesterday and rightfully so.
Probably not.
But by God, is that some culminating event for a season of all seasons?
Like this, I'll have anybody, I'll sit with anybody and argue to the death that this is the greatest Gaelic football season we've ever witnessed.
