Slowly I open my eyes.

I close my eyes and rub my neck.

We stare at each other for a moment before she lunges at me, her hellish maw enveloping my vision.

I sit up with a start, the heart monitor beeping erratically, and at once begin to gag on the air tube running down my throat.

I rip off the mask and pull the surgical tubing out of my mouth, trying not to vomit as it triggers my gag reflex.
