August, not for the bird, August 4th, 1983, Dave Winfield of the Yankees accidentally kills a seagull on the field in Toronto.
It was between innings as they're warming up.
After the game, they were kind of joking around about it, and all of a sudden, the local policeman that was at the game walked in and arrested Dave Winfield.
They brought him to the Toronto Police 14 Division, and he was charged with unnecessary suffering of an animal, a $500 fine.
The next day, it was dropped.
