They just had a great idea.
And because people were throwing money at these ICOs, they raised money.
So it was a phenomenon, but it was a very poorly planned out phenomenon.
And to nobody's surprise, it collapsed.
What will be interesting is and I'm going to try to do a couple of articles about this over the next month or so, hopefully, is what replaces that.
And that will be an interesting aspect of this whole crypto winter thing.
When will it end?
It was a good idea.
The ICO idea was not bad.
The idea that startups could go around Wall Street, go around Silicon Valley venture capitalists down on Sand Hill Road, could find new pools of capital, new investors.
The idea that investors could have access to startups, that they can never get access to that kind of an investment.
It wasn't a bad idea.
It was horribly executed.
The question is,
Can they take that good idea and build an infrastructure around it that actually works?
That's going to be something we're going to be looking for the next couple of months and years, even really.
Yeah, I do.
And you do have that to an extent happening now.
The SEC has been very active in this field.
They really put the brakes on the ICO market because they stepped in and they said, if you're going to do this, you are going to follow our regulations.
