Yeah, absolutely.

And sort of then kind of are we culpable as well because we're being entertained, right?

Because we're reading this and I mean, I obviously couldn't put Hostile down, but I couldn't put Highway 13 down.

So are we sort of complicit in that?

Which goes back to, I think you were saying if this was sort of inspired by Fiona listening to true crime podcasts, there's a kind of entertainment value to that too, right?

And kind of... And questioning.

The motivations behind all that, right?

Yeah.

I think after I read the book, the story felt like the world that she had built and the geography of this place expanded for me in all ways.

But also I think in time too, because the book sort of...

kind of jumps around in decades as well, right?

So if I'm remembering correctly.

And so to have this story be just sort of one part of this grand map and these decades, I think allowed me to feel like I had entered a much bigger world and a much more complex world with many more characters in it who, you know, for the most part don't really overlap, which I found really interesting too.

Yeah.

Which is kind of like the opposite of a hostel, right?
