So she had a kind of a whole second career till the end of the century, which is remarkable in itself.
I mean, she was in her 60s then.
She could have retired, you know, but no.
My father, I mean, there was a kind of hiatus in the 80s, really, when I think both my parents' work kind of went out of fashion and their main clients, the Hilly family, sadly sold the firm in 1983.
And I think they would have then thought that's it, that's the end of their careers.
You know, we were going to be forgotten, except my mother started this new one.
But then, yes, my father in the late 90s, early 2000s, there began to be new interest in music.
what's sometimes called mid-century, but, I mean, it was all contemporary, you know, designed for the 50s and 60s, you know, who was approached by other companies, some good, some not so good.
But he did new designs right into his late 80s.
So, for example, at the Barbican, you know, on the terrace, the Sussex bench and tables on the Barbican terrace.
Yeah.
I mean, that was designed for Magis when I think it was 88.
Amazing.
For Magis.
And that was, you know, quite radical, I think, technically.
That's interesting.

It's been a real struggle for many years because of the challenges we faced.
It's now I feel we've sort of turned the corner and I'm actually realising
Gosh, you know, I haven't just been battling to look after my parents, as it were.
