It's not like a clip to Pratt.

And I'd had a pair of riding boots made for me to my own design by an artisan that I'd met.

I want some too.

So I started taking commissions.

First it was two or three pairs and I'd go down and see my artisan and say, I want...

Absolutely, yeah.

I designed them.

I think I got ever hungrier to make money.

I really needed to make a living, and I got great pleasure out of trading.

Yeah, really short of money.

Yeah.

I mean, we often couldn't make it to the end of the month.

It was really tough.

I think I'm lucky that I always think that a door will open.

The next, you know, something will come.

And I kept trying all sorts of different things.

I tried to get into the interior design world, but it was pretty much, you know, I was in my 30s, a lot of people already established.
