I've read about them, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a video of one.

And it was wonderful.

Is that something, I mean, you do it in Springwatch, you're always bringing the science in, but is that something that you think sort of nature programming could benefit from more generally bringing that science in and what we don't know and what we only newly know?

I'm a plant scientist by training, so I have to ask, no plant episode, no giant redwood, an oak tree would have been great.

Record temperatures have hit the US this July, with 20 states recording temperatures over 38 degrees Celsius, or over 100 Fahrenheit.

There has also been a record heatwave in Europe this June, with temperature records being broken on consecutive days.

And that was especially notable, foreboding, you could say, as June is not even the hottest month in Europe.

So heat waves is what we're getting into today.
