To Japan now where record rainfall has caused flooding in the east of the country near Tokyo, leaving several people dead.

The Chiba Prefecture has had more than three times its average rainfall this month alone.

This comes after a series of storms swept through Japan and neighboring countries, in what forecasters say is an unusually active typhoon season.

Our Tokyo correspondent Kurumi Mori told me more.
