What are we doing now?
It's a different game, very slow in that sense.
And some people actually find it boring or too slow for them.
Because for better or worse, a listed stock or company, you'll get a daily update and there's always more annual reports or releases to read.
I tend to visualize real estate investing as like a snowball.
You're just building a snowball for the future.
I tend to, if I buy a property today or some farmland or whatever,
tend to try and think of it as something for the kids and then not really worry about what's happening day to day.
I mean, it's pretty much what Warren Buffett would say about buying a stock.
If the fundamentals and the earnings are increasing, don't worry about the price so much.
But of course, in the modern era, that's not a popular viewpoint because everyone wants a quick win, hence the popularity of cryptocurrencies and Web3 investments and all the rest of it.
People want money today, but it's actually more about building the compounding machine.
Oh, no, yes.
There's a guy, Jake Beasley, who I know used to say, you're only allowed 20 Warren Buffett quotes and if you use up your punch card, you get sidelined from social media.
I think I've just committed the cardinal sin.
Yeah, I think, well, the first thing you already touched on there is to have a strategy.
Why are you doing it?
Because although, excuse me, it's not always popular to say, sometimes renting is actually better.
You can rent, you've got flexibility to move around, invest your money elsewhere.
If you decide to become a home buyer, ideally, you probably want to be in that property for a few years to justify the transaction cost involved.
