And remember, they don't have to be paid work.

This is about connecting, socialising and actually getting yourself out there.

And actually, for men, it's probably a lot harder than women.

Men aren't as good at the social connection as women are.

And I think it's probably something they're probably a little bit more tied to their identity as well.

And those are the things you have to start to untie earlier than the day of retirement.

It's not fair to say they do, but it is fair to say ageism absolutely exists.

And it exists generally unconsciously rather than consciously.

I mean, if you're in a workplace that is generally lots of younger people and you're 10 or 15 years older, you do stick out a little bit.

But that doesn't mean they are being ageist.

A lot of this is also in our head.

We feel, oh, 48 is not old.

You're not going to be restricted.

But yes,

In your view, will you be there at 66?

You know, that's still 18 years away.

It's a massive amount of time.

I would hope you might think there might be lots of other opportunities where you don't have to be in that one job at 66.

But it does exist.

But more and more employers are realising that an older worker has a huge amount of benefits.
