There are people out now listening who are hiding in their car, in their office, in their cubicle, on a bus, on a train, listening to this, who are hurt because of the shame they feel.

Like they might be sitting on an aeroplane right now and they're they're shameful because they've got an eating disorder and they think the person next to them looks at them as they're too skinny or they look like an addict.

Or the opposite.

They

feel like they're too heavy and part of their body is leaning you know, and they're trying to keep their belly away from the other person's armrest or you know, it's part of the human condition.

The shame that somebody knows that they're cheating on their spouse right now and they don't have the courage to share with them.

It's everywhere.

And you have the opportunity right now and as part of your conditioning to make space for that.

And here's the beauty when you make space for your own humanity, including the parts of you that feel shame, that shame starts to dissipate.

It's quite beautiful.

So, do we know that Joe's gonna spend the rest of her life by herself?

Do we think there might be an even better chance now after this conversation that she's more likely to spend her life with somebody who can also love her to the degree that she loves herself?

I'd say that's a pretty good turnaround.

And again, nothing against your friends.

I'm glad that they have their partners.

But do we also know that just because they've got partners or even girls hitting on them that the rest of their life is just like fucking honky dory?

No, we don't know that at all.

They might be coming to you in five years, you're happily married, you're nursing with your beautiful second baby, and they're going through divorce, they're devastated and they become, you know, addicted to some sort of pain meds.

You never know.
