If the dollar holds up against other currencies, we can keep importing.
But if the dollar really tanks... What's the all-time high inflation number?
Well, the highest we got officially...
in the 1970s, we might've got 14 or 15%, but we don't measure prices that way anymore.
I mean, if we got to 14 or 15%, again, it'd be like 25 or something because it's completely dishonest now the way, I mean, pretty much a typical year now, the way we measure it would be a bad year if we measured it more accurately.
And a lot of people, again, don't understand.
They think that inflation was something that we got under Biden.
We've been having inflation, you know, from one president to the next.
We haven't been honest about reporting it.
But the real big increase in inflation that we had in 2021, 2022 is
started under Trump in 2020 with COVID.
It was the COVID monetary policy, the massive increase in the Fed balance sheet.
That happened in 2020.
Interest rates got slashed to zero in 2020.
Donald Trump signed the PPP and all that massive stimulus spending.
And even if you go back and look at when the CPI really started to go up, it was the last three or four months of Trump.
And then it continued during the first few months of Biden, even though Biden hadn't done anything yet.
None of Biden's bills had been passed.
So it started.
