And the other thing they'd have to do is, well, cut spending, cut Social Security, cut Medicare.
They don't want to do that either.
Because what happens when somebody gets Social Security checked?
They go out and spend it.
That's what's pushing our prices.
Because the people on Social Security, they're not out there producing anything.
They're just consuming.
It's politics.
That's the reason they're doing it.
I mean, that's the reason they stopped hiking rates in the first place, because banks started to fail.
It wasn't because they got inflation under control.
In fact, that's the reason that interest rates got so low.
And in fact, when the CPI finally got back above 2%,
The reason that they came up with this idea of inflation averaging, all of a sudden we want to average 2%.
And so because we were below 2% for so long, we need to be a little bit above it to just average it out.
That was all politics.
They were looking for an excuse.
They didn't want to raise rates.
