What do you love the most about radio?

Well, you are a movie.

You're creating a movie with the sound effects, with the lighting, with the cameras, with the actors.

You're creating the movie yourself.

The first time I fell in love with radio, though, I was traveling cross country with my family to Canada.

I was five years old.

We were going to visit my grandparents.

My dad was awake, and I was awake.

The car radio was on.

Everybody was asleep.

And I'm listening to this guy, you know, and it's 65 degrees here in Denver.

We're going to be going out to Bill.

You're out, and here's this guy taking me on this journey, you know.

I'm already in the car, but this guy is telling me all about Denver, and they're going to go here, and they're going to go there.

And I listened to everything this man was saying to me.

Here's a song now called this and that, and the song, and then he come back.

And I realized that this man was –

This is the whole other world.

I'm in the car, but this guy's got another world that he's connecting me to.

So I wanted to be that guy.
