This is actually very popular among philosophers of physics.

People who normally don't like wacky stuff like Sean Carroll.

Why is that?

Because it's the only interpretation

That requires just the Schrdinger equation, the the the the the most basic bit of mathematics.

Um all the other interpretations add something, add another another axiom to explain why we don't observe superpositions, right?

If you look at the basic mathematics of quantum mechanics, everything is in a superposition.

The particle isn't in one place, it's here and there and there.

Um, it's going at lots of different speeds and no at the same time and none of them in particular.

Well we never observe that though.

Why do we never observe that?

Well, most interpretations of quantum mechanics add some extra axiom to explain that the wave function collapses and we don't see any superpositions.

The many worlds theory says no, all of these superpositions exist.

They're just the universe branches.

So, in a sense, it is the simplest theory.

The big problem with it is how do you make sense?

Of probability?

How do you make sense of probability in a world where everything happens?

And this is particularly important because the evidence for quantum mechanics involves claims about probability.
