And Ciarán, you know, you could say that...
Dublin have had wing forwards starting nearly midfielders over the years Howard has been brilliant at times in midfield but like out and out midfielders nowadays are big rangy lads that you know have to win that aerial battle and and
I always found Ciarán more of a trek closer to goal.
He's very similar to Paddy Clifford.
He's one of these guys that the further out the pitch, he will only get scores in a transitioning period.
That's not to say he can't get scores when playing against a set defence.
But with the way it is gone, the further he is away from the goal, the harder it is for him to get on the scoreboard.
And that's what happened this year from the way I feel.
obviously I'm a fullback but there's times where I've marked him when he's being inside and he's gravitated out towards the half forward line and one or two occasions I've said to him like you know you need to be close to goal you're not causing me any problems running around the half forward line giving hand passes and
And he's so accurate.
He has to be getting into those spaces to get scores.
And the times where he wasn't, that's what I'm talking about.
He's kind of caught between being around the midfield and being in spaces to get scores off.
And the problem is also that Dublin's full forward line is quite competitive.
