especially those involved in simulation, we always need to respect the fact we cannot model everything and always never lose sight of what you're good at modeling and what you're not good at modeling and never lose sight of that.
Always be a bit humble.
These things are not perfect.
They are tools.
They're good at certain things, not good at other things.
I mean, I know from my previous experience that in a simulator you could make
model bounce poor poise if you wanted to that was typically thought of after the problem was found but ultimately unless you understood the mechanism yeah it was still a bit useless yeah you couldn't make it poor poise you could make it balance and go oh yeah it does it does balance great but find a solution does it make my does it help me fix the problem not really does it does it
Is the purpose in getting worse when it should be getting worse on the real car or better when it should be getting better?
Not necessarily.
It's just a trick to make it... Ultimately, it wasn't adding value to the work that was done on the simulator.
So that's where I think you have to be a bit careful.
Not ever lose sight of however impressive a tool is.
It's still only a tool.
And use it with intelligence and...
Yeah, no.
So do you think that Formula One would be better if basically you're allowed more track testing and that had a consequence to simulator testing?
In other words, swap the two around.
Would it be more effective for the performance, better budget-wise?
It's a good question, because if you could turn the clock back and go and do 100 days testing... Maybe not that.
I mean, ultimately, the team's... Now there's a cost gap.
