I think they're going to take a swing there to try and fix.
They need a second offensive center behind Nick Suzuki.
Yeah, honestly, he'd be ideal for Montreal, but he'd also be ideal for Minnesota.
Stein upgraded center.
He'd be ideal for the L.A.
Kings, who obviously on the Copa retired.
I could make arguments for 12 NHL teams that would line up to β
to try and trade for Nico Hescher.
Where that is at is that two weeks ago, Nico Hescher's agent, Alan Roy, flew into New Jersey en route to the World Championships in Zurich.
He met with Sonny Maeda for the first time, and they discussed Hescher at length that day.
So they've commenced the process, the two sides, of seeing what an extension may look like.
But in the meantime, then Alan Roy went to the world and met in Zurich with his client, Nico Hescher, and they also further chatted.
This is an interesting one.
I think on the surface, everyone's intention is for an extension to happen.
But it's not a sure thing for all kinds of reasons.
I mean, Nico Hescher has to be sure that he's convinced that Sonny Meda has a plan in place to make this team a cup contender.
That's a matter of saying he's the captain of the team.
um but also even if he believes that there's still the matter of what does an extension look like for one of them you know one of the more you know polished two-way centers in the game like he's a really solid player the cap is going up i find these discussions really interesting right now bob like
teams have a certain idea of what salaries have looked like the last few years, and Asians are saying, guys, wake up and smell the roses.
The cat's going up.
