All the doors were locked and all the neighbors were home.
I took a moment to remind myself this.
Still, my heart quickened, a bit, as I stood there straining to see his or her shape in the darkness at the end of the garden.
I had to keep glancing away to keep their fuzzy outline clear in my vision.
They were standing very still and were a little thin, but that's all I could see.
I couldn't tell anything else.

Apparently, someone else was bored and saw my name pop up.
Chris.
Hey.
Me.
Hey, you okay?
Chris.
Yeah, bored.
