Overnight, I spoke with President Trump for about 20 minutes as he traveled back to Washington from Florida, getting some new insight on the commander in chief's thinking about Operation Epic Fury, the success so far, and what he thinks about Iran's new supreme leader.

He also gave some new details on the timing of this operation and why it needed to take place when it did.
He said, when we attacked them first, we knocked out 50 percent of their missiles.
And if we didn't, it would have been a much harder fight.
