Victoria Reyes, originally from Caracas, woke up early Saturday morning by family members back home to let her know planes were flying close to the ground.
Reyes watched news updates on Spanish language television in a Venezuelan restaurant in the Dallas suburb of Garland.
Reyes has lived in North Texas for the last three years.
But others in North Texas view Maduro's capture with alarm.

Senate Bill 8 requires sheriff's offices that operate a county jail to participate in a 287G agreement with ICE, which would permit ICE to task local officials with enforcing immigration law.
Migrant advocacy groups like Vecinos Unidos DFW and El Movimiento want North Texas sheriffs to reject the agreement.
Asael, a community organizer with both groups who asked to only use his first name, says the law will increase fear and distrust in migrant communities.
Supporters of the bill say it increases public safety.

Norlan Guzman Fuentes from El Salvador died in the attack, and Miguel Angel Garcia Hernandez from Mexico died almost a week later from his injuries.
Immigration attorney Eric Cedillo represents Garcia's wife.
He told the audience much of the focus following the shooting has been on law enforcement.
A third man, Jose Andres Bordones Molina of Venezuela, was injured in the shooting and moved to a detention center after his release from the hospital.
