I had the ability to connect with individuals nationwide, worldwide even, and it was limitless.

Thank you so much for having me, JR.

It's wonderful to be here.

So I moved to a new city in a new training program to start fellowship at the epicenter of the pandemic back in 2020, which is New York City.

And fellowship is training in a subspecialization.

So I'm a board-certified internal medicine doctor now entering training to practice endocrinology, which is the field which really deals with hormones and hormonal glands.

And this would be the last stage of my training before I was ready for independent practice in the real world.

So in my eyes, at this critical stage, it was really important to have the correct guidance in order for career evolution.

And with the pandemic, workplaces had shifted pretty dramatically.

And if I wasn't working remotely while I was in person in the hospital, there were a lot of rules which were imposed on social gatherings, just as they were throughout the city.

So we weren't allowed to convene, to have lunch, to be at conferences.

And it was really difficult to foster relationships

social connections behind the masks, the PPE.

But I think virtual platforms kind of transformed that experience for people personally and professionally.

So COVID isolated us in many ways.

And ironically, I think it also opened up avenues of engaging in another world, which was the world of social media.

But I think looking at the challenges, I also saw that social media was also the perfect avenue and tool for my career development at this point.

And there were several reasons I felt that way.

One being that it was very practical.

I felt that I could reach people from the comfort of my home
