People were going to bed much later, up to an hour later, and sleeping by about an hour less.
Yeah, that's a huge effect in sleep terms, right?
We don't realize how bright the moon is, particularly when you are under totally natural light conditions, right?
Because suddenly the sunset, it gets very dark, and if the moon happens to come up just before, you know, you're about to go to bed, it's nearly impossible to go to bed, right?
You see the moon there.
You know, you could even read under full moonlight.
The fact is that we see very clear lunar rhythms in people living in a place where light pollution is way above the intensity of full moon nights.
And we cannot explain that by moonlight.
By now, I have no doubt that there's a lunar month modulation of sleep, particularly when you see single people doing this beautiful sinusoidal oscillation in their sleep.
