As a general rule, I think it's slightly overhyped.
There's no big evidence of people shifting makes a massive difference.
If you've got the money, go for it.
If you haven't, don't worry about it.
Yeah, for a year or two now, there's been protein mania.
And food companies love it because there's lots of cheap protein out there they can add in powders to anything.
I've seen surveys in the US showing that 70 to 80% of people believe that if they see high protein in a product, it's healthy and they don't look beyond the protein.
So it's definitely going to replace the low calorie.
And you see this turning up in all kinds of terrible snack bars that are incredibly unhealthy and they've just added a bit of soy protein or milk protein on the top and it's
They're generally absolutely terrible.
So, yeah, I think that's a real red flag.
You know, if you want protein, get the high quality stuff.
You know, if you want, you know, dairy and red, you know, lean meat and things like this and legumes.
don't buy in a chemical form because the average American is already getting more than enough protein.
There are a few people who are protein deficient, but the vast majority of people, unless they're sick, elderly, or bodybuilding, are not really gonna be needing any extra.
There's getting plenty.
Yeah, that's right.
You know, only 10% of people need more protein, whereas 95% of people need more fiber.
We're really deficient in the Western world on fiber.
And yeah, the USA is leading the world on that.
