And the parents watched the teachers, and we coached both of them.

It involves live coaching of the parent while they're interacting with their child.

And while the parent is interacting with their child, you have a therapist who's behind a one-way mirror.

And they are talking to the parent from behind that one-way mirror through a wireless bug in ear device.

It's a progressive program where the first thing that we're doing, the first phase of treatment, it's all about following the child's lead and using skills that are known to build the relationships.

Skills like labeled praise.

So if you have a child that is usually running around the room, they're extremely hyperactive, but now they're sitting down and concentrating and engaging.

That's when we want parents to be saying, great job focusing so hard on the activity.

Often, you know, some of the parents that we work with, they just don't, they tell us, I don't play with my child.

I don't know how to play with my child.

Imitation is great because it teaches a parent how to play at the child's level.

Because, again, this is a dyad where a lot of conflict, a lot of negativity, and we're trying to make this a really positive experience.

So getting the parent to act and feel happy around the kid?

Act and feel.

And sometimes it is a matter of, you know, fake it till you make it.

For some parents, that's what we're going for is this really, we almost call it like a sync, like a dance experience.

We tell them not to give commands just during this therapeutic time.

Of course, it's important to give commands at other times.

We don't ask questions because, and that's quite unnatural, right?

Especially if we think about in educational context, how important questions are.
