Yeah, that was not my best days.
I had with me a full surgical kit and medical kit, but of course, you know, I was the one that got injured.
I was carrying a pack with medical stuff in it, and my leg got caught between two rocks, and I had a slow, twisting fall.
I had to set my own leg in the field, but I actually injured my other leg as well, and we ultimately were able to get a helicopter
to evacuate me and to have emergency surgery, which I stayed awake and watched because I was nervous.
I didn't want to have anybody to hang blood on me given that the infection rate in Namibia at the time was about 25%.
And so it really changed my life in many ways because I was at the time a marathon runner and
And I had to change and adjust my sports.
It really did because the operations I had meant that my flexibility of my ankle is not great.
So I had a shift to, you know, now I can bicycle ride and I can use the elliptical.
But, you know, it changes things.
